How to Feed a Dinosaur a Sleepy Berry on Ark on Xbox

Gathering Supplies and Taming
Gathering Supplies
After getting those questions answered it's time to get prepped. Stock up on whatever food is preferred by your future pet. You also want to stock up on Narcoberries or more importantly Narcotics if you can make them. Narcoberries will add 7.5 points to the Torpor (unconsciousness level) of the dino. Since a past update Narcotics will now add 40 points of Torpor. Since it takes 5 Narcoberries to make 1 Narcotic, it is more effective to use Narcotics now than single berries. Also, Narcotics won't spoil like the berries will so whenever you can make Narcotics from the berries. For now, most dinos will be able to be kept under with between 30-50 Narcotics. Larger or higher level ones will need more to keep sedated closer to 200-300 Narcotics for dinos like Brontos, Rexes, and Spinos, depending on how your server is set up.

You will also want to stock up on your method of knocking the dino out, unless you are just going to use your fist. Using the slingshot to fire stones is more effective than your fists. Using tranq arrows is even more effective than the slingshot. To make tranq arrows all you need is 1 stone arrow and 1 Narcotic. Generally, 20 tranq arrows should be enough to take down most creatures. Larger or higher level beasts will require more.
Start Taming
Once you have the food and Narcotics (or lots of Narcoberries) and your knockout method ready, it's time to start the process. Find the dino you want, get in a good position, and fire (or punch). Don't stop until it falls over and hits the dirt. After it goes night-night run over to it so you can protect it from predators. Do not put food into its inventory right away, no matter how excited you might be. Instead, let it starve so that the taming effectiveness reaches maximum potential. If you can and have the time let its food level get down to around 100-200 before feeding it. This will make the taming bar fill up very rapidly. As it stand right now, force feeding the dino will not make its taming meter go up any faster. It must eat the food on its own, which is the method to the madness here.
You will, however, want to force feed it Narcotics or Narcoberries to make sure it stays asleep until it is fully tamed. To do this simply put the Narcotics in the dino's inventory, select them, and click Remotely Use Item. If the dino wakes up before the taming meter fills up, all your progress will be wasted and everything in its inventory will disappear. Because of this it is a good idea to only place and feed it as many Narcotics or berries to max out its Torpor level. DO NOT EVER feed a dino you are trying to tame Stimberries. This will wake the dino up and erase your progress.
Once the taming bar is filled all the way, the dino wakes up and should now have a green nametag above it. If you are close enough to the dino when this happens you will be prompted to give your new pet a name. If you weren't prompted you can always change the name later by walking up to it, holding the E button down, and selecting Change Name from the radial menu. Also, if this it the first type of that dino you have tamed you will unlock a dossier page for it. Congratulations ! You now have a new pet for your dino army!
