I'thou negotiating a deal with a local seller for over 1000lbs of used weights in contrasted sizes, along with a few accessories. How much is used weight going for these days?

Note that depending upon how much stock the retailer has, the local demand for plates, and the gross amount yous are willing to purchase, you can oft strike a good deal.
I've purchased equally low as $0.05/lb "new" Oly plates, because the retailer had picked up a ton (literally) of smaller weight plates. I bought 350 lbs of 5'southward and ii.5'south. It was about four yrs ago.
I've also picked up used Oly plates quite recently for $0.20.
Hope that helps !

Information technology seems that nearly all of the Play It Again Sports in our area sell used weights for $0.39/pound with two exceptions with 1 selling at $0.49/pound and one selling standards at $0.29/pound and Olympics selling at $0.44/pound.
I always felt that I got a good bargain at annihilation beneath $0.30/pound.

Equally far as weights get, I've never seen annihilation that could remotely be considered a bargain at Play Information technology Again Sports. I've actually seen some things there that cost the same as buying them new.

The one in my area sells standard and Oly used plates for .30 a pound. I bought six York milled 45lb plates for .30 a lb, cheaper than when I bought them new in the 70'due south. Prices vary from store to store.

I have come up away with quite a few bargains. And, I walk away if they won't deal.
I've bought probably 2000 lbs of Oly and standard used there. Standard plates were used for my dumbells. Paid anywhere from nearly $0.20 to $0.30 / lb used.
In my feel and depending upon what you lot are going to buy (quantity, gross corporeality to spend, is there a boring- or - hot marketplace for the item, etc.), they will often negotiate.
I recently bought 2 brand new 300 lb/ Oly sets for $100. They were priced at $149. Yeah, I could accept paid $99 at Sports Say-so, but I wanted grayness without a specific brand, and SA but had their branded black.
I only talked to the manager and was polite nearly it. I also bought 350 lbs of new Oly plates (5's, 2.5'southward) for $0.05/ lb. a few years past.
My hip sled was purchased in that location several years ago too (new). It sat on the flooring for almost 6 months. Every few weeks, I'd go in and ask the managing director if he would bargain. Took six months, only I got it for $450 - and they delivered it for me.
Not sure information technology would happen in every case, or in every shop (they are independent franchises), merely it works for me. And... Like I said, if they won't budge, I walk away.
I've done the same at Sports Authority for new as well. Not near as successful there at getting a discounted price, but I accept done it a couple of times.
I also purchase from the classifieds. Definitely worth negotiating there. Most everyone will curve on the price. More so, if they accept non sold the item for a while or it is large and takes up infinite.
I've also bought new from Spider web sites (New York Barbells was very good), but the freight can kill you depending upon waht you are looking for and where it has to be delivered to.

I wish management at your Play Information technology Again Sports would talk to management at mine so I could become some deals.
Believe information technology or not, I can beat your $0.05 bargain. At Fettle Experience a couple years ago I got about 90 lbs worth of standard plates for $0.04/lb.
I was there for something else and the salesman mentioned it to me. I only wish I had known near it sooner, because I was only able to get 1.25, 2.5, 5, and 7.5 lb plates, all the 10's were gone.Buying from classifieds, absolutely a good idea. Except for my bench I've outfitted my entire home gym with used merely basically brand new equipment I bought on eBay for roughly seventy% off retail price.
Hey - I causeless the AZ meant you lot were from Arizona. If and then, where (if you don't mind my asking)?

I have also bought a lot from EBAY, I simply go on the search range inside 100-150 miles for selection-upwards but prices. I got a hack squat machine for $44 in perfect condition right in town.

Depending on the area, the general range for olympic plates are $.25/lb to $.40/lb for used plates. At one fourth dimension or another i've purchased a few used olympic sets and resold them. The used olympic plates i've picked up sold for $.30/lb.
I have no idea about standard size plates though. The ones that i have were purchased new at a local sporting skillful store for $.55/lb. My local play it again sports wanted most the same for used plates, so i just went with the new plates. (For some reason, i tin never notice a good amount of used 10lb standard plates in the classifieds.)
What is the seller asking for the weights?
